千葉商科大学の教室のためにデザインした家具。通常の座学の講義でない、ワークショップやグループワーク形式の授業を行う教室のためのデスク・スツール・ボードを設計した。
デスクは台形型の小さなもので、容易に移動ができるよう4脚のうちの2脚にキャスターを備えている。台形の4辺のうち3辺を同じ長さとすることで組み合わせのバリエーションをより豊かにした。2つ突き合わせての六角形や、平行四辺形や矢羽根型、正五角形や正十角形、連続させることで任意の曲線に並べることもでき、あらゆる授業の形式に柔軟に対応することができる。また、天板に厚みをもたせることで、突き合わせる際の安定性を担保している。
流動的に動き回ることの多い授業形式に合わせて、椅子ははあえて背もたれのないシンプルな作りでキャスター付きのスツールとした。収納スペースにも配慮した、スタック可能なデザインとした。
グループディスカッションや発表の際に、板書やピンナップをして利用できるホワイトボードならぬウッドボードは、シナ合板にクリアの専用塗料を塗布することでホワイトボードマーカーで書き消しできるようになっている。
Furniture designed for a classroom at Chiba University of Commerce. I designed a desk, stool, and board for a classroom where classes are held in the form of workshops and group work, rather than the usual classroom lectures.
The desk is small and trapezoidal, and two of the four legs are equipped with casters for easy mobility. Three of the four sides of the trapezoid are the same length, allowing for a wide variety of combinations, including hexagons, parallelograms, arrow feathers, regular pentagons, regular decagons, and a series of curved lines. In addition, the thickness of the top panel ensures stability when they are placed against each other.
The chair is a simple stool without a backrest and on casters, to suit the class format that requires a lot of fluid movement. The chairs are designed to be stackable for storage space.
The wood board, rather than a whiteboard, can be used for group discussions and presentations by writing on the board or pinup.
